I cannot think of many good reasons for you to buy my books. I am not attempting reverse psychology on you. I am serious. Still, for those with some interest, I will lay out for you here what my books are and why I have written them.
To the points above, it is important for me to state that I do not do what I do to sell books. I sell books to help me do what I do. My Mission, Vision, Programs, and Goals do not support book sales. Book sales support the Vision, Mission, Programs, and Goals. If, as a result of what I am doing online, a person were inspired to consecrate their lives to the Virgin Mary and enrich their spiritual lives through Traditional French Catholicism without ever reading a single book of mine, then I would have accomplished my objective. Therefore, if you are interested in what I am doing, my books might be helpful to you. On the other hand, you can get most of your information simply by reading my website and blog.
By the way, in addition to my home page Le Royaume and my blog Ste. Jehanne et Ste. Thérèse, I have an official author’s page, The Dove and Rose, where you also can find my books:
My flagship book, Le Royaume, is a collection of web and blog postings. It is a reflection of my heart, that place of unity in the soul, which is imbued with a love for Jesus Christ in His Church and His Eucharist, the Blessed Virgin Mary, Sts. Joan of Arc and Thérèse of Lisieux, and the Kingdom of Catholic France. This book includes the Vision, Mission, Guiding Principles, Ten Points, and Methodology, along with essay reflections on Le Royaume, Sts. Joan and Thérèse, and the Catholic and Royal Army of America. It is written under my real name rather than my nom de plume of S.T. Martin.
Le Royaume actually includes a significant portion of another book of mine, The Dove and Rose, which is a focused collection of blog postings around my personal reflections on devotion to St. Joan of Arc and St. Thérèse of Lisieux.
In addition to Le Royaume and The Dove and Rose, I have two spiritual autobiographies, Journey to Christendom and Seek First the Kingdom, the material for which cannot be found in my blog postings. These were the first two books I ever wrote. They both hold the following statement from the Archdiocese of Chicago (my other books have yet to be submitted, only these two have been):
“In accordance with c. 827, permission to publish is granted on January 13, 2010 by Very Reverend John F. Canary, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Permission to publish is an official declaration of ecclesiastical authority that the material is free from doctrinal and moral error. No legal responsibility is assumed by the grant of this permission.”
Another book that cannot be found in my blog postings is my small collection of poetry called Little Flowers and Fiery Towers, named after, and devoted to, St. Thérèse (the Little Flower) and St. Joan of Arc (who died on the fiery tower of the stake).
Finally, I collected the last four and put them into one big book, called Fleur-Darc, for those who might be interested in all of my writings at a discounted price. So, Fleur-Darc has the two spiritual autobiographies, The Dove and Rose reflections on St. Thérèse and St. Joan, and the poetry. It is a one volume collection of those four books. It is written under my real name rather than my nom de plume of S.T. Martin.
Ok. Those are my books, but why do I say that I cannot think of many good reasons for you to buy them? Well, they are essentially my spiritual journals in print. Why would you be interested in reading my spiritual journals? I have no idea. I am not a priest or theologian. No one asked me to write them. I have no one to testify on my behalf. I am not part of any Church ministry. No one seeks my advice or counsel (nor am I comfortable giving it, for I am not a spiritual adviser). My story is one of many. So, I just do not know why you would buy them. You must decide yourself if you have a reason. I cannot give you one.
Then, why do I sell them? Why do I promote my website and blog? Why would anyone write their story of conversion along with their personal spiritual reflections and then offer others an opportunity to read them and even purchase them, especially when no one asked, no one seeks their counsel, and they admit that they have no authority and are not a spiritual director? Here, I do have a reply. I do know why I have written these books and made them public despite the caveats above. I will explain it with the following scripture quotation:
“And when he went up into the ship, he that had been troubled with the devil, began to beseech him (Jesus), that he might be with him. And he (Jesus) admitted him not, but saith to him: Go into thy house to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had mercy on thee.”
“And he went his way, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him…”
(Mk 5: 18-20a, Douay-Rheims, parentheses added).
This is why I have developed my website and blog and written these books. I did not do so because I felt others needed what I am sharing. I did so simply because I needed to, and felt commanded to, “go to my friends, and tell them how great things the Lord has done for me, and has had mercy on me.”
